Dr. Kaklauskas is a clinical psychologist with over thirty years of experience in a wide variety of roles and settings, including private practice, community mental health, forensic psychology, as well as multiple different academic appointments. He offers individual and group psychotherapy as well as consultation and supervision. Dr. Kaklauskas has facilitated long-term, psychodynamic therapy groups in his practice for over twenty-five years. He is a seasoned clinician who brings a unique, warm approach to his work. He integrates scholarship and emotional attunement, with a particular focus on helping his clients develop more meaningful, in-depth relationships. He encourages and challenges his clients to better understand themselves and work toward creating more collaborative relationships with others for the benefit of everyone.

His training, publications, and academic leadership span a broad range of study that includes comparative psychoanalytic perspectives, existential-integrative approaches, multicultural counseling, process research, and Buddhist-based, mindfulness-influenced psychotherapy. He has enjoyed working collaboratively with multiple authors on many chapters and articles. In the process of co-editing nine academic texts, he has supported over 100 authors in finding their voice.

Dr. Kaklauskas believes that in-depth, attuned, and meaningfull psychotherapy can create life-changing benefits in one’s relationships, as well as personal and professional endeavors. He has dedicated over 30 years to the craft of psychotherapy as a group member, analysand, and mentee. Given the benefits that he has experienced, he understands what a profound impact psychotherapy can have on one’s life. From this place of personal experience, he offers clinicians, trainees, and students an integrative training approach that is grounded in pragmatic and effective clinical work.
